How do you engage 5* hotel guests and connect them to the surrounding area?
The Andaz Hotel sits at the meeting point between the creative and commercial sides of London, at Liverpool Street. The brief asked for a Christmas installation which linked back to the local area in a very creative East London way. Our solution was to illustrate and lazer etch a series of giant neon bells: According to tradition, a true East Londoner is someone born within earshot of the Bow Bells. Every bell charts the history of the area, from Cockney antiquity to the modern day, paying homage to the architecture, markets, the Krays and the east London Suffragettes.
Each illustrated bell was supported with a corresponding neon wrapped present, telling the story behind the artwork.
